Pretty Connected caught up with Dancing with the Stars host, Brooke Burke to get the skinny on her gorgeous locks as she kicked off the Wella Professionals Color Discovery Tour.

Pretty Connected (PC): What’s most important to you when it comes to your hair?

Brooke Burke (BB): I think healthy hair is probably the most important. I do a lot of conditioners and deep conditioners, glosses, and get regular haircuts. I don’t stray too much from natural browns so I use the Wella Professionals hair color line in the salon, to keep my hair healthy and shiny.

PC: What hair product can you not live without?

BB: I like spray glosses since my hair is pretty curly and gets frizzy. I also use coconut oil in a jar, which you can get at most health food stores; it’s really cheap, all natural and it’s the best. I put it on my ends and it’s great!

PC: What’s your beauty secret?

BB: Less in more, especially in the summertime. For me, it’s really about sunscreens, and maybe tinted sunscreens or moisturizers and not laying too much.

PC: What attracted you to Wella and what is the best advice they have given you?

BB: I’ve always wanted to do a hair campaign and Wella approached me.  I love their products; I use the Wella Professionals color line and glosses.

The best advice they gave me was to have a conversation with my colorist and ask what they were using on my hair. I didn’t before, most women don’t.  The whole point of this tour is to encourage woman ask those questions and really educate themselves with their colorist. I would pull out tear sheets and have visuals and say this is what I want but I had no idea what they were using. Wella is trying to correct that and get people to have a better relationship with their colorist and broaden awareness about the Wella line.

In big news this morning, Lindsay Lohan showed up to court Tuesday afternoon wearing all black and what seemed like a regular multicolored manicure.  After closer inspection celebrity blog WWTDD noticed she had adorned the words ‘F­_ CK U’ (I’ll let you fill in the blank) onto one of her nails.  So while her mouth was saying, “I don’t want you to think I don’t respect you and your terms” to the court, her middle finger was expressing something completely different.

I bet the judge feels incredibly vindicated for giving Lohan a 90-day jail sentence (three times what the prosecutors were seeking).  Talk about a beauty statement!

On Thursday, May 20^th, The Pink Agenda will be hosting their annual Gala at NYC hotspot, The Box to raise money for the cause. Known for their unique and fabulous events, this year’s benefit will be no exception.  Guests can expect to enjoy cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, and a marvelous array of silent auction items.  This year’s Gala will also feature actress and comedienne Carolina Rhea performing a scene from Love, Loss, and What I Wore.

More About the Pink Agenda: Inspired by her mother’s battle with breast cancer, Marisa Lee started the organization in 2007 to help raise money for breast cancer care and research as well as raise awareness of the disease amongst young professionals. Her Board of Directors consists of a group of extraordinary women from a variety of industries – finance, marketing, media, and fashion who alongside a wide range of friends and supporters join Marisa in her quest to help eradicate breast cancer.

Lee’s mother, Lisa Mae Lee, passed away in 2008, but remains the inspiration for The Pink Agenda.

Perhaps Julia Louis-Dreyfus is not the easiest name to spell off the top of your head, but I’m at a complete loss as to how her name was misspelled on the star she received for the Hollywood Walk of Fame.  Apparently, the spelling “Julia Luis Dreyfus” (missing both the ‘o’ from ‘Luis’ and the hyphen between ‘Louis’ and ‘Dreyfus’) was approved by several members of the LA Chamber of Commerce and the errors were not discovered until CNN correspondent David Daniel noticed the mistake. Smack! (*hand to forehead*).

Fortunately, the actress had a great sense of humor about the whole situation saying, ‘the misspelling was so perfectly apt, a great metaphor for show business. Right when you think you’ve made it, you get knocked down. It’s an ideal metaphor for how this business works’.

Don’t worry, the star will be fixed, but seriously, how does that even happen? I would have thought only in a Seinfeld episode.

For the 40^th anniversary of Earth Day, I decided to spend the evening at the Kiehl’s Flagship store to partake in the celebration of their ‘Give Kiehls, Give Back’ campaign.

Photographed by David LaChapelle, the campaign features actress Julianne Moore, musician Pharrell Williams, pro-surfer Malia Jone and artist Jeff Koons; all of whom designed a limit edition label for Kiehl’s Acai Damage-Protecting Toning Mist.  For every one sold, Kiehl’s will donate 100% of the proceeds (up to $200,000) to the RainForest Alliance.

With actress Taryn Manning on the turn table, we celebrated Earth Day and Kiehl’s philanthropic efforts in style; great music, fun drinks and snacks (all acai berry based), with an influential crowd of actors, artists, TV personalities, photographers and press.  Guests included Malia Jones, Tinsly Mortimer, Robert Verdi, Parker Posey, Adrienne Bailon, Shiri Appleby, Richie Rich, Heather Matarazzo, Kelly Benisom, Ally Sheedy, Norman Reedus and KAWS.
